Our monthly Gathering is the cornerstone of all HOH activities. The presentations range from a wide variety of interesting topics. The Ideas Club, which is more than just a book club, meets to discuss important ideas in the philosophy of humanism and freethought. HOH Religion, Ethics, and Society Club. It will also include problems with religion and its institutions and leaders. Saturday, June 12, 2010. Our gathering on June 19 will be a celebration of World Humanist Day. Bring your favorite cookies or finger foods for everyone to enjoy. There will be readings, games, prizes, and most importantly good food and conversation.
Humanist Contemplatives focus on self improvement, introspection, and pursuing eudaimonia. Some may meditate or engage in other contemplative practices. They seek to experience the profound in the arts and explore new ideas and traditional inspirations on spirituality in a naturalistic context.
